Reflection kinda short
Looking back on this semester it was a very crazy one but I manage to get things done. I had posted things on my blog even though I know that it might’ve been lat I still got it done. I had put it on upon myself to work under pressure whish working under pressure is when I always seem to get things done even though it last minute. I had felt bad that I hadn’t applied myself to well but I feel like I had made myself work hard to try to pass and passing means a lot to me so getting a good grade in this class at least will show me that I had worked hard and that it paid off. But even though I got this done I want to next time pass without saying I worked under pressure that will mean a lot more to me while at the same time getting a good grade. This semester was a rough one but I know there’s a lot of rough things I have to get through just to get the good things in life and if that’s what I want I know I have to work hard just to get it and im already used to working hard and I will always do it to get somewhere in life and passing this semester will make my efforts not go to waste.

A revelation is a big moment in someone’s life where it changes their view and there way of living. Many people live their lives freely and some live their lives the way other people want that person to live their life. Which ever way that person is living whenever they have a revelation they will change something about their life. But still till this day I still wonder why something drastic has to happen for a person to see life in a different view. Why can’t we just be born with ways of a prophet or life with enlightenment. But in a revelation at times there’s a trope. A trope is an element in a story that keeps on repeating itself and therefore leading to a revelation. The trope will always have a character that plays a role in the trope while the trope is occurring . There’s always someone playing a role in plotting out the revelation that’s supposed to happen. First there usually is a activist/leader/prophet type person who will eventually creates the revelation and at the same time experiences it. Second there is the dumb masses/silent majorities who are the ones who see and knows everything that’s going on but never attempt to react to the problem and the oppressor which is the one who tries to create a negative revelation for themselves and only to help them in their own way. Besides the characters playing those roles that are beneficial to the a revelation trope there are also things that these characters deliver when they perform steps leading to the revelation which is to have the most important thing get across which is the message. In my point of view I think that the message is like the core of the revelation. With out a message then how will the revelation ever happen which usually the prophet has this part of the revelation in his control. Then there’s the big events that go on that helps build up on the message and helps make the message more clearer as the revelation progresses. Last element which is the promise of redemption which is like when one makes a certain promise to the dumb masses when they finally get the revelation and want to spread their new knowledge.
The revelation trope can be seen through many examples like for the movie fox fire. All the students in the class which were the dumb masses were watching what was going on but did not do anything about it while their teacher which is the oppressor in the movie who was trying to make the student do something she didn’t wanna do like cutting the frog in half and the girl was so afraid to do it. So when legs came into the scene who was played by Angelina Jolie whose like this super bad ass chick who looks like she don’t take shit from nobody. The way she was dressed the all black clothing big boots and a very tomboyish look had showed she wasn’t the type of person to mess with. As she came into class and saw the problem happening she made it her business to be the prophet the leader who had delivered the message which was that no one has to tell you what to do if you don’t want to do it and in that case legs was considered the ultimate leader giving this message to a helpless girl. After the message had been delivered the girl had gained the message and she had received the revelation that she now can look at herself and make her own decision and not let anyone tell her what to do and now she will give the promise of redemption and will try to change the view of the dumb masses and help them see what she now see’s the revelation that she now knows.
Another example of the revelation trope is with this kid I grew up with who I thought was a friend but really wasn’t but that’s a whole different story. But anyways we had been the coolest of friends until he backstabbed me and started hanging out with this other kid in my school who was like the biggest troublemaker his name was Julien but yea he didn’t really like me so he would always try to find a way to get on my nerves somehow. He was like the oppressor who wanted to create something for himself. So once he had became friends with my old friend he saw that as an opening to stir up new trouble. So one day I was coming out of school and this kid in my grade Keith came up to me and told me that to not pay no mind to Julien and just don’t bother with any of the things that is spoken around about me. Then Keith told me that he had heard them at lunch planning something on me and he said he wasn’t gonna have them try to gain up on me. I was in shock cause Keith was my friend but we weren’t that much of close friends like we were until that day. So from that point on Keith was like this leader /prophet figure for looking out for me and it was kinda like a revelation cause I had never knew someone that would lookout for me and I don’t even talk to him like that it was a big shock. But other then that Julien had one day stepped to me with my old friend and tried to start a fight I was ready to fight I didn’t care I wasn’t gonna get punked out I was gonna defend myself so as were about to fight I see all these dumb masses watching the fight and not even trying to break it up or try stopping it it was as if they wanted to see this happen. But as I was about to fight Keith comes and stops the fight and tells all of us that we shouldn’t be fighting. Keith also told them that u know that me and my friend used to be the best of friends and that we shouldn’t be fighting over stupidity and after that day everyone saw Keith has the totally different person the how they seen him before its as if he was now looked up to as this great person in other words this great leader. So the message that Keith was sending was that violence wasn’t the answer there were other ways to solve our problems and that was something that I never picked up until Keith made it clearer. Besides me getting the message the dumb masses which were rooting the fight and trying to make it worse were resisting the fact that there were other ways to problem solving, but in the end they finally had gotten the message after I had gotten the revelation and I had gotten the message that was meant for me a promise of redemption to the dumb masses and make it so they can see what I now see which was violence is not an answer to problem solving but we can solve in a more mature way.

In the matrix all the people who live in the world are the dumb masses they are the ones who live their lives in a world of lies but don’t realize that and so they keep living in the control of the matrix and not knowing the truth about the world or the truth about life. Then there’s Morpheus who is like the head prophet who had revealed and showed neo the truth and made neo the prophet that he became after gaining the knowledge needed from Morpheus about the matrix and what it was about. But what’s running the whole movie is that people are living their daily lives to a lie and don’t even know it.

In the movie the main character John Nada played by Roddy Piper is a bum who becomes a construction worker but lives in a low society separated from the big society the city. In this movie the dumb masses are all the people who live in the low society who doesn’t know the truth about why they are being separated and why they are living in the low society. The prophet is the people in this church who are always having ads on the tv about the big society and how they are brainwashing everyone into believing a lie they are like the head prophet trying to give a message but are being resisted. Even to the main character John who doesn’t wanna believe it but until he manages to investigate the church and the messages being sent due to curiosity he stumbles upon these shades that help him see the world in a different view and as he puts these shades on he sees everyone as aliens in other words they are being controlled by a higher power and are the dumb masses and now as John can see the truth and had received his revelation he becomes a prophet/leader trying to get everyone to see the truth even though the aliens are like the oppressors trying to stop the revelation and only try to please themselves and create that negative revelation but until John gets in contact with the higher power of all the oppressors he manages to stop the higher power from controlling the world and becomes this big hero in the end. The message that was trying to be sent was that you shouldn’t live your life as a robot but live your life how u wanna live it.

Cause just like in the matrix everyone is living in a world covered by a black blanket where no one can see the truth, where are they going, and why they are not getting the truth. Well in they live everyone is the same they don’t wanna listen to anything that has to deal with something outside of the box they just wanna know what they know and not have anyone try to tell them what to do so they live their lives freely without thinking about why they are living, what is their purpose, they just wanna live. The head prophets in both of the movies Morpheus and the church people both have something in common which is doing their job in finding someone who can see the truth and someone who they can rely on but the way they find them is different. Like in the matrix Morpheus finds neo and expects him to be the one who can save te world. Like out of all people Morpheus has picked neo because he felt like he was the one but at first neo had felt like Morpheus had the wrong person but as the movie went on the revelation had gotten bigger due to the trope repeating itself and neo had accepted his revelation and did something about it. In the movie they live the church people don’t direct their message to John but they direct their message to everyone that lived in that low society. But John had to be the curious one who wanted to dig deeper into this he didn’t have to but he did and made it no option but to save the world when he had accepted his revelation just as neo had accepted his. The oppressors in both movies the agents and their leader agent smith from the matrix and the aliens and their leader which was the girl who fell into control both had a different goal. In the matrix the agents wanted to stop Morpheus and neo from showing the truth to others in the world and in they live the aliens wanted to all have control over everyone and have everybody in some type of possession in where the control the lives of the people. But in the end the prophet had came out on top both neo and John nada managed to save the world from either destruction due to the prophets using the revelations they had received and making the message reach out there someway in a promise of redemption.
In knowing my examples to the revelation trope there’s also two other characters that can prove their worth to the revelation trope. Fox fires legs and my story’s Keith. I think that in fox fire legs is just this bad ass who was 100% sure that she was the prophet and just went into the classroom and with confidence and had delivered the message that was needed to be delivered and to give the revelation to that hopeless girl and in my story Keith had delivered the message in a sneaky way in a way that I didn’t even expect and the revelation just came to me like a hidden bomb waiting to blow but both their messages were clear and easy to understand for both me and the girl in fire fox. The classmates and the classmates in both the movie and my story had the same reactions to both situations. I think that classmates always has this role of being the watchers that never get involved the just wanna wait and see what happens next. The oppressor in fox fire which was the teacher and the oppressor in my story which was the troublemaker were both different oppressors the teacher was forcing her negative revelation on the little girl and the troublemaker in my story sits back and pulls the strings to have his negative revelation go by the slow way and more sneaky.
In conclusion the revelation trope in its own way becomes a common aspect of a revelation because it helps build the revelation to where it wants it and by having a revelation trope you can have a perfect revelation built to happen. The possibilities that the revelation trope offers to individuals is some type of order in a persons life in a organized way helping that one individual gain something by looking through a revelation trope but revelations usually occur surprisingly. Overall the revelation trope has its pros and cons to it. But anyways we had been the coolest of friends until he backstabbed me and started hanging out with this other kid in my school who was like the biggest troublemaker his name was Julien but yea he didn’t really like me so he would always try to find a way to get on my nerves somehow. He was like the oppressor who wanted to create something for himself. So once he had became friends with my old friend he saw that as an opening to stir up new trouble. So one day I was coming out of school and this kid in my grade Keith came up to me and told me that to not pay no mind to Julien and just don’t bother with any of the things that is spoken around about me. Then Keith told me that he had heard them at lunch planning something on me and he said he wasn’t gonna have them try to gain up on me. I was in shock cause Keith was my friend but we weren’t that much of close friends like we were until that day. So from that point on Keith was like this leader /prophet figure for looking out for me and it was kinda like a revelation cause I had never knew someone that would lookout for me and I don’t even talk to him like that it was a big shock. But other then that Julien had one day stepped to me with my old friend and tried to start a fight I was ready to fight I didn’t care I wasn’t gonna get punked out I was gonna defend myself so as were about to fight I see all these dumb masses watching the fight and not even trying to break it up or try stopping it it was as if they wanted to see this happen. But as I was about to fight Keith comes and stops the fight and tells all of us that we shouldn’t be fighting. Keith also told them that u know that me and my friend used to be the best of friends and that we shouldn’t be fighting over stupidity and after that day everyone saw Keith has the totally different person the how they seen him before its as if he was now looked up to as this great person in other words this great leader. So the message that Keith was sending was that violence wasn’t the answer there were other ways to solve our problems and that was something that I never picked up until Keith made it clearer. Besides me getting the message the dumb masses which were rooting the fight and trying to make it worse were resisting the fact that there were other ways to problem solving, but in the end they finally had gotten the message after I had gotten the revelation and I had gotten the message that was meant for me a promise of redemption to the dumb masses and make it so they can see what I now see which was violence is not an answer to problem solving but we can solve in a more mature way.
Another example of the revelation trope is in the matrix where neo is like the prophet who wants to spread what he knows about the matrix and how it everyone is living the matrix which in other words they are living a lie that has been going on forever. In the matrix all the people who live in the world are the dumb masses they are the ones who live their lives in a world of lies but don’t realize that and so they keep living in the control of the matrix and not knowing the truth about the world or the truth about life. Then there’s Morpheus who is like the head prophet who had revealed and showed neo the truth and made neo the prophet that he became after gaining the knowledge needed from Morpheus about the matrix and what it was about. But what’s running the whole movie is that people are living their daily lives to a lie and don’t even know it.
One other example of the revelation trope is the movie They Live. In the movie the main character John Nada played by Roddy Piper is a bum who becomes a construction worker but lives in a low society separated from the big society the city. In this movie the dumb masses are all the people who live in the low society who doesn’t know the truth about why they are being separated and why they are living in the low society. The prophet is the people in this church who are always having ads on the tv about the big society and how they are brainwashing everyone into believing a lie they are like the head prophet trying to give a message but are being resisted. Even to the main character John who doesn’t wanna believe it but until he manages to investigate the church and the messages being sent due to curiosity he stumbles upon these shades that help him see the world in a different view and as he puts these shades on he sees everyone as aliens in other words they are being controlled by a higher power and are the dumb masses and now as John can see the truth and had received his revelation he becomes a prophet/leader trying to get everyone to see the truth even though the aliens are like the oppressors trying to stop the revelation and only try to please themselves and create that negative revelation but until John gets in contact with the higher power of all the oppressors he manages to stop the higher power from controlling the world and becomes this big hero in the end. The message that was trying to be sent was that you shouldn’t live your life as a robot but live your life how u wanna live it.

Big revelation paper draft 2
A revelation is a big moment in someone’s life where it changes their view and there way of living. Many people live their lives freely and some live their lives the way other people want that person to live their life. Which ever way that person is living whenever they have a revelation they will change something about their life. But still till this day I still wonder why something drastic has to happen for a person to see life in a different view. Why can’t we just be born with ways of a prophet or life with enlightenment. But in a revelation at times there’s a trope. A trope is an element in a story that keeps on repeating itself and therefore leading to a revelation. The trope will always have a character that plays a role in the trope while the trope is occurring . There’s always someone playing a role in plotting out the revelation that’s supposed to happen. First there usually is a activist/leader/prophet type person who will eventually creates the revelation and at the same time experiences it. Second there is the dumb masses/silent majorities who are the ones who see and knows everything that’s going on but never attempt to react to the problem. Besides the characters playing those roles that are beneficial to the a revelation trope there are also things that these characters deliver when they perform steps leading to the revelation which is to have the most important thing get across which is the message. In my point of view I think that the message is like the core of the revelation. With out a message then how will the revelation ever happen which usually the prophet has this part of the revelation in his control. Then there’s the big events that go on that helps build up on the message and helps make the message more clearer as the revelation progresses. Last element which is the promise of redemption which is like when one makes a certain promise to the dumb masses when they finally get the revelation and want to spread their new knowledge.

live prophet essay
After being in this class for a while now and watching lots of other prophets throughout the semester I’ve had come to mind on who is my prophet in life or who I think will make a great prophet. I really think that my prophet is Andy because being in his class learning about many things that has to deal with revelations and life at the same time has a meaning and a point. Its not like many other people who say things and believe that what they say is true but Andy has said many a things that any person that listens or hears what he has to say they will always have time to sit down and think about it. Andy plays the role of a leader and a live prophet and I think he can be that to many other people not only me. But besides all that I had Andy for two semesters straight and being in his class for that long really helped me to know how he really is and he’s been the same since I first started his class but a lot of his teachings always have a meaning and never falls back to something that is off topic. But I feel like Andy has been a prophet to me because when I first went into this class I never had a revelation but after being in the class I feel like I had gotten a revelation from Andy. Some of the things he said made me realize things that I never took into account because I would always deny it but I give thanks to Andy for being a prophet to me and to many other people.

Well this semester our humanities class is revolved around revelation and how it basically plays out. A revelation is a huge change in a persons life for example, a person who denies something that is supposed to happen and doesn’t bother with it and keeps on moving on with their life until someone or something changes that persons view on what they didn’t believe into what they now believe. In some revelations a trope is being seen. What is a trope and why does it have to be in a revelation? Well a trope is what creates the story or in better words sets a tone for the revelation. Also in a revelation trope there are certain things that is needed to build the revelation which in other words helps the revelation get bigger and more noticeable to the person who is denying the revelation. The certain things that are put into a revelation trope are the reveler, leader, profit, oppressor, oppressive situation, the steps in the revelation that are needed to overcome, and the message. Revelation tropes are seen in movies like the matrix, foxfire, and some books like the running man, and notes from the underground.
